Ed Butowsky: Check Out Comodity Related Stocks for Investors in 2010
Part 1 and 2 Taking Stock Podcast Dec. 29 (Bloomberg) -- Ed Butowsky of Chapwood Capital Investment Management talks with Bloomberg's Pimm Fox about global commodity-related companies.
Topics of Discussions:
- Comodity related plays in the market. Meaning companies that dig stuff out of the ground and make things like copper, tin, etc, and companies that are invested around the world. Anything comodity related will be doing very well over the next 5-10 years. Reason why is because the demand around the world is growing more so today then 10 years ago.
- Need to look at investments that are not correlated. All investments have a relationship to one another. For example, large cap growth stock and large cap value stock go up together that means they are correlated. However, if oil stocks go up, airline stocks go down this means they are negatively correlated. So you need to have low correlation stocks in your portfolio.
Overall, you need to be careful and work with your asset manager or financial management company to build a much more solid portfolio.
